About Forensic Medicine

Ages: 5-12  |  Levels: 1-3

Locations: Thornhill

Use the Power of Medical Science to Identify & Analyze Clues to Help Solve Crimes!

Put on your lab coat, grab your evidence kit, and step into the role of a doctor detective! In Forensic Med, campers use science and medicine to uncover clues, analyze evidence, and solve medical mysteries. Starting with the scientific method, they’ll explore how real forensic scientists and medical professionals use biology, chemistry, and anatomy to investigate the truth all as part of a STEM.org accredited program.

Campers dive into topics like DNA, genetics, blood types, and cells, using hands-on experiments to discover how our unique biological markers can help identify individuals. They’ll analyze “mystery mixtures” through chromatography, perform chemistry experiments, study teeth and bones in forensic odontology and anthropology, and examine how toxicology, microbiology, and pathology reveal important details about a case. They’ll even explore forensic entomology, botany, and scatology to see how plants, insects, and even animal evidence help solve crimes.

Through these engaging, hands-on investigations, Forensic Med campers build critical STEM and analytical skills, learn real-world lab techniques, and practice teamwork, observation, and problem-solving just like real forensic specialists.

Some of the medical and forensic professionals campers learn about include:

Forensic Pathologists
Geneticists
Toxicologists
Medical Examiners
Crime Scene Investigators
Forensic Anthropologists
Odontologists
Microbiologists
Odontologists
Epidemiologists
Lab Technicians
